The surgical excision of an ovarian cyst (a fluid-filled sac) from the ovary or its surface is known as a cystectomy. One ovary is located on each side of the uterus in every woman. The size and form of each ovary are comparable to an almond. Your ovaries generate both female hormones and eggs, which is their primary role. Ovarian cysts are common in women and frequently go undetected. Within a few months, the majority of cysts go away without any therapy. In the future, it might be required to remove either one or both of your ovaries due to these issues. Chronic conditions like diabetes or obesity raise your chance of problems. Additionally, complications are more likely if you use specific prescription drugs, consume alcohol or tobacco, are pregnant, or have had prior abdominal surgery.
