A minimally invasive technique called laparoscopic hysterectomy is intended to take the place of abdominal hysterectomy. The advantages of a laparoscopic hysterectomy over an abdominal hysterectomy include less discomfort, less bleeding, a lower risk of infection, and a speedier return to work and daily activities. A laparoscope, a small, flexible tube with a video camera within it, is used to conduct a vaginal hysterectomy during laparoscopic surgery. Through minuscule incisions made in the abdomen close to the navel, thin tubes are introduced. The uterus is then cut up and removed either through the vagina or the laparoscope tube.
