What is folliculometry?

It is an ultrasound examination during which the number and size of follicles are determined. It is performed repeatedly, because of the growth of follicles and prediction or evidence of ovulation. A follicle grows about 1-2 mm per day and ovulation starts once it reaches 18-30 mm.
