Hymenoplasty

Hymenoplasty is a surgical procedure aimed at reconstructing the hymen in the lower half of the vagina. This fibrous and elastic tissue is usually torn by the woman's first sexual insertion, but can also be torn after physical accidents, sudden movements, or the use of tampons. Repairing the hymen is a simple procedure that involves sewing the torn edges with meltable stitches.
