Ureter

Ureters are the tubes that connect your kidney to the urinary bladder. In these tubes sometimes stones that drop down from the kidney get stuck and cause severe pain and upstream dilatation/swelling of the kidney. These tubes can rarely also become the site of malignant change and harbor cancers which can manifest as swelling of the kidney and blood in the urine. Do not neglect any loin pain ( pain that starts at the back and goes to the front) or blood in the urine. Early interventions can be miraculous !!!
